General information about the Toxopolasmosis consiliary laboratory

  • The Toxoplasma consiliary laboratory is also located at the Institute. The consiliary laboratory is available for the following tasks:
  • Consulting services for public health services, laboratories, physicians, patients and research institutes
  • Work within the framework of quality assurance (participation in studies and interlaboratory tests)
  • Further training offers
  • Performance of specific laboratory services (serology and direct pathogen detection)
  • Further or new development of diagnostic procedures
  • Participation in the epidemiological assessment of the situation by the Robert Koch Institute
  • Conducting studies within a network of diagnostic facilities
  • Advising the Robert Koch Institute and contributing to the development of scientific materials (e.g. case definitions, RKI guidebook)
  • Participation in the working group on toxoplasmosis of the Paul Ehrlich Society
